ART 4 BLM

In the midst of the Black Live Matter protests here in Seattle, I was feeling helpless about how I could make my voice heard and make a difference to the movement. I decided to turn my virtual gallery show for the June 2020 West Seattle Art Walk into a fundraiser, where I would donate 100% of sales of my SCROLLS I project to Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County. I offered 14 different hand-painted scrolls to friends and followers through my Instagram account, and ended up creating additional scrolls to meet demand. After all was shipped or hand-delivered, I was able to donate $900. I would not have been able to make that donation all on my own. But together, we could – just like together, we will make change.
